In 1889 the Tower, named after its designer GUSTAVE EIFFEL, was the world’s tallest tower at over 320 meters and remind so far forty years.
The tower was originally thought as a temporary structure for the “Exposition Universelle”, marking the centennial celebration of the French Revolution. When the twenty-year “license” expired in 1909 the City of Paris allowed The Eiffel to remain.
And so, more than 200 million visits have been made up the Tower since its inauguration till now.
